The Ask

So I'm talking to one of my best friends on the phone tonight and all of a sudden someone knocks on my door really loud and I jump! I keep thinking to myself "who the heck is knocking on my door that loud?!" I was a little afraid to go see who was at my door so I look through the window and see a wagon and at the moment my eyes grown big and I just scream!! I swing open the door and there's a piece of paper that said "Kami". At this point I knew what was going on =) here are some pictures of the ask to homecoming:

Traumatization to the Third Power

On Saturday night I was bored so I decided to call my brother Corey to see if I could take his two oldest kids Kaleb and Lyla to play. Well when I called he says "Do you want to take Grant too?" (the 3 month baby) and I said "sure!" well his anniversary was the next day and they wanted to celebrate it that night so I decided to watch the kids. I arrive at their house and my sister-in-law, Erin, is telling me all the instructions for Grant. I was so excited to watch all three kids! Corey and Erin were also excited to get out of the house since they haven't gone to dinner without kids in 3 months! It would be my first time watching all of them by myself. At the time I thought it was going to be easy but I was wrong. There was a list of things that went wrong!
  1. I had Grant asleep in my arms but then his little sister Lyla wanted me to hold her too so she jumps on top of me and starts talking really REALLY loud and I try to make her whisper but... I was too late. Grant woke up crying and then Lyla started crying. Good thing I had Kaleb there. He was trying to calm Lyla down so he started playing with her while I calmed Grant down.
  2. Grant started screaming because he was hungry so I put him in his bouncer for a few minutes while I made his bottle but he was screaming like bloody murder and Lyla wanted milk and I was too busy making Grant's bottle so I was trying to finish that first and then get her milk. Well Lyla was really impatient so I asked Kaleb for help and this was his reply he gave me... "but Kami I can't do it. I don wanna give Lyla meelk" so I started begging him and he still didn't do anything so instead I put him up on the counter to play with Grant to make him happy while I got Lyla her milk.
  3. The bottle was all made for Grant so I picked him up and started feeding him but he wouldn't eat it. Every time I put the bottle in his mouth he would start screaming and his face would get bright red! I was so stressed and didn't know what to do so I called for reinforcements!
I called my sister Krista and she could tell how panicked I sounded and she could hear Lyla and Grant crying in the background. After I got off of the phone with her I was waiting by the door with the crying baby in my arms. My eyes grow big as I see her pull up into the driveway and I hurry and open the door. Krista, Steve, and baby Cache all came in. Krista was ready to go! She looked prepared and I was relieved! She took Grant out of my arms and started rocking him while I picked up Lyla. Krista got Grant to drink his bottle while I played with Lyla and Kaleb was happy to play with his cousin Cache. Soon enough all of the kids were happy and calmed down so Krista had done her job and she was ready to leave. We had all the kids in their pajamas and they were on the couch waiting to watch a movie. I walked Krista, Steve, and Cache to the door and thanked them for saving my life. I went back into the living to sit down for a second and just take a breather and I had all the kids on me and we were all just sitting there but then chaos started again! Grant started crying so I started rocking him around and Lyla was screaming just for fun while Kaleb went to get his blanket. As Kaleb was running back with his blanket he fell down the stairs and was crying a lot. He hurt his thumb really bad and he startled Grant so he started crying again. I didn't know what to do so I picked up Kaleb and Grant. I was trying to rock both of them and calm them down. I didn't know what to do and I just wanted to cry I had a tired baby crying in one arm and a four year old hurt and crying in the other while Lyla was on the floor looking at her brothers all confused. Thankfully my brother Corey and his wife Erin came in and saw me holding the two boys. They looked at me and started laughing because I looked totally traumatized! Corey took Kaleb and started hugging him and soon enough Kaleb was fine. Finally Erin took Grant and calmed him down. I couldn't help but start to laugh really hard. Erin looked at me laughing and said "you either have to laugh or cry about these moments haha welcome to my life!" after this experience I decided I most definitely did NOT want 11 kids! I think I would be okay with maybe 6 or 1, but wow... that's all I can say. It was quite the babysitting experience!

I just like to thank Kaleb for helping me find the bottles and helping me with Lyla and Grant! I also want to thank Krista, Steve, and Cache for helping me in my time of need. I couldn't have done it without you guys I thought I wasn't going to make it! And for Corey and Erin I would love to babysit again haha I think I'll be more prepared next time =)
